An Empire-State-Sized Whale Is Blocking The Artery of the World

March 25, 2021

Back in the day, if you wanted to travel by boat between Asia and Europe and North America, it would take a very, very long time. The power-to-be built themselves a shortcut so they could get from Asia to the rest of the world. It made its debut in 1869. What was it called?
The Suez Canal is also known as the Artery of the World and about 10 percent of world trade used to pass through it to get from Asia to Europe and other parts of the world.
Why did it use to? A Japanese ship the size of the Empire State ship has run aground right in the middle of it, blocking 10 percent of the world’s shipping trade.
How long is it going to take this whale of a ship? It could take weeks to move it.
Egypt, as they are primarily reliant on the Suez Canal for their income, would be the first casualty of this stuck whale.
The local economies closest to the Suez Canal will be the most affected. The rest of the world’s economies are next in line.
This whale must be removed as fast as possible, or the world’s economy could also run aground.
