Thai Crime: Thai Arsonist Stayed And Laughed After Fire

Recently, a man in the central Thai province of Pathum Thani is reported to have set a residential building on fire. Instead of fleeing the scene, the man allegedly stayed to laugh and smile at the destruction. Around 2 am in the Lam Luk Ka district, the fire was allegedly started by a man in the early morning hours.
According to The Nation Thailand, the fire started in a shoe rack at the building. Following this, the fire spread to a wooden panel and neighboring buildings. The tenants of the building, a mother and her daughter, were warned of the fire and escaped. Khu Khot police and firefighters rushed to extinguish the fire. The residents were keeping an eye on the suspected firebug to prevent him from leaving.
Initially, the suspect was questioned in Thai, and when that failed he was questioned again in English. He spoke little to the police, they say. He did not mention why he started the fire or if he is either a foreigner or mentally ill. The suspect was taken to the police station for further legal proceedings.

Note: Pathuam Thani is really a suburb of Bangkok. It is where Dream World is and is near Future Park Rangsot.
