Game Bits: Ex-Netflix Leader Becomes Part Of Riot Games, FaZe Will Be The First Esports Org To Partner With A Comic Book COmpany

Ex-Netflix Executive Joins Riot Games

Riot Games, the company behind League of Legends and Valorant, has hired former Netflix executive Brian Wright as its new Chief Content Officer for Riot Entertainment.
Prior to Netflix, Wright spent seven years at Viacom as SVP of Development. He has also worked for Berlanti Productions and Lifetime Network.
Wright’s new role includes developing strategies to create entertainment properties based on Riot’s game IP, including film, TV, and animation. Shauna Spenley, Riot Entertainment’s president, will be his direct supervisor.

Faze Clan Will Partner with DC Comics

FaZe Clan partnered with DC Comics on a limited edition comic book. During DC Comics’ Batman month, FaZe Clan will be featured in an original comic book with five different collectible covers featuring four founding members, FaZe Banks, FaZe Temperrr, FaZe Apex, and FaZe Rain. The comic book will also feature other members of FaZe.
In conjunction with the launch of the limited-edition comic book, FaZe will release a limited-edition merchandise collection. Finally, FaZe announced that it will release a video on Friday on its YouTube channel that features members providing a behind-the-scenes tour of the Warner Bros. lot and archives.
The collaboration between Faze and DC Comics marks the first time an esports organization has collaborated with a comic book publisher. Epic Games and DC Comics collaborated earlier this year on a five-issue limited run featuring a Batman and Fortnite cross-over written by Epic’s Donald Mustard.
