Thai Crime: Thai Family Desperately Searches For Infant Daughter

Recently, an almost-2-year-old girl went missing from her home in a remote village in Mae Taeng district, tucked away in a valley. Her parents still hope to find her.
Since the search began on Sunday, about 200 security officers and volunteers have not found the missing girl.
A friend of the girl’s father, who is being treated as the main suspect in the case, has also been questioned by police.
Eksukhon Si-arun, deputy chief of the Chiang Mai police, told reporters that the suspect, who lives in the same village as the suspect, has been charged with illegal entry.
Pol Col Eksukhon says Phonsiri “Nong Gina” Wongsilarung, the missing girl, and her father, Suriya Wongsilarung, were friends.
Pol Col Eksukhon said police continued questioning the man and searched for five suspected cars in the village, as well as checking with security cameras.
Suriya identified the suspect as Siew, whom he very much suspected was responsible for the disappearance of his daughter.
Despite the fears of her daughter, Mali Pasi, 23, believes that she would not let her daughter leave the village by herself because she is normally afraid to talk to strangers.
She begged whoever had taken her to the village to bring her back before her birthday next month when she turns two.
Suparrot Phonchomphu, a neighbor who lives within 50 meters of the girl’s house and is believed to be the last person to have seen her before she disappeared on Sunday, said she saw the girl walking alone when she was leaving the village on a bicycle.
The neighbor claims she stopped her bicycle when she saw the girl by herself and asked where she was going. However, the girl refused to speak to her.
Suparot left the girl and told another villager who she came across shortly after leaving that she had seen the girl alone and didn’t know who she was.
In an effort to find the girl, the search team, including some sniffer dogs from the border patrol police, expanded the area they were searching.
