Doom Eternal New Upgrade: A Ray-Tracing Gun

A Ray tracing gun has been added to DOOM Eternal’s next-gen upgrade.

Since the launch of the PS5 and Xbox Series X last year, DOOM fans have been waiting for the highly anticipated native next-gen update.

With a native next-gen update, DOOM Eternal takes an already great game to another level.

There are three performance/visual modes on the PS5, Performance Mode, which boosts framerate to 120fps, and Balanced Mode, which runs at 2160p at 60fps. The Ray Tracing Mode is 1800p at 60fps.

Xbox Series X

Performance Mode: 1800p – 120 FPS
Balanced Mode: 2160p – 60 FPS
Ray Tracing Mode: 1800p – 60 FPS
Xbox Series S

Performance Mode: 1080p – 120 FPS
Balanced Mode: 1440p – 60 FPS
Ray Tracing Mode: Not Available
PlayStation 5

Performance Mode: 1584p – 120 FPS
Balanced Mode: 2160p – 60 FPS
Ray Tracing Mode: 1800p – 60 FPS

The performance and availability of Ray Tracing Mode depend on a user’s PC hardware.
Dynamic resolution scaling is available in all modes. Ray Tracing does not support Balanced or Performance Modes. A 120Hz display is required for Performance Mode. A 4K display is required for Balanced Mode.
Ray tracing is one of the most common features of a next-generation update, which makes in-game lighting even more realistic. As mentioned by VGC, the developers at id Software have not only added the option of ray tracing but have gone above and beyond what’s expected.
People have been fired up their PS5 as soon as the next-generation upgrade was available for download. Once downloaded, people checked out the customizable options via the main menu screen before starting a new campaign in DOOM Eternal.
The ‘Ray Tracing Gun’ is actually a new skin called “Raytracer” and it’s for the Ballista gun. While a Ray Tracing Machine would have been much cooler, the skin still looks cool and is free.
In related DOOM Eternal news, it has been reported that save data will not be carried over from PS4 to PS5. Nevertheless, data will be transferred from Xbox One to Xbox Series X via Smart Delivery. Having played DOOM Eternal on the PS5, People can confirm that the data does not carry over. Fortunately, this is a great game. Starting a campaign was no problem for people.
For those who own DOOM Eternal on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the next-gen upgrade is free.
