Thai PM Promises That COVID-19 Vaccine Deliveries Will Be On Time

Thailand’s prime minister recently said vaccine deliveries would be on time and no shortages would occur.

During the House of Representatives debate on the budget bill for the 2022 fiscal year, the pledge was made ahead of the mass vaccination program scheduled to begin on June 7, 2021.

The government continues to procure Covid-19 vaccines and has primary, secondary, and emergency plans in place. The Thai PM expects supplies to be made on schedule.”

“The government has procured vaccines from Sinovac and AstraZeneca, and an alternative vaccine from Sinopharm is being procured by Chulabhorn Royal Academy (CRA),” he said.

A temporary suspension of the Mor Prom (Doctor’s Ready) mobile appointment app led to the defense.

In addition, General Prayut stated that the government would speed up the process of allocating vaccines, especially to areas with large clusters of infections.

Public health official Kiattiphum Wongrajit said on Monday the vaccine rollout is scheduled to begin on June 7 and AstraZeneca has confirmed the vaccine will be delivered as planned.

In accordance with the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration’s (CCSA) plan, about 70% of the population will receive their first vaccination by the end of September.

In addition to five samples produced by Siam Bioscience, director-general Supakit Sirilak said recently that 19 samples of AstraZeneca’s vaccine were quality-tested.

Meanwhile, the CCSA on Monday reported 5,485 new cases with 3,532 among the general population and 1,953 in prisons.

Symptoms of two new clusters have been found in Bangkok, a construction worker camp in Bang Na and a community in Sathon.

Recently, Udon Thani health authorities reported that four of the most recent cases diagnosed were of the variant first detected in India.

The three women and one man were being treated at four different hospitals, according to Uthen Hakaew, deputy chief of the provincial public health office.
