More Protesters Are Killed By The Myanmar Military

Local residents report that on Saturday, April 17th, 2021, the Myanmar military shot dead two protesters. These protesters were part of a rally to welcome the anti-regime National Unity Government to the Mandalay region town of Nogok.
According to witness accounts, about 100 police and soldiers arrived at the scene in Aung Chanthar and began firing on the civilian.
The local said that one of the protesters was shot in the head. Another was hit in the abdomen.
The protesters were believed to have been in their 20s.
The bodies of the two protesters were taken by police to an area near Chanthargyi pagoda where the military has a base. The police then put the bodies in an ambulance and took them to Mogoko Public Hospital.
After the protesters tried to pick up the bodies, the police and the soldiers shot at them. Thus, the protesters were unable to pick up the bodies.
There were also other protesers who were injured, and they were put in the ambulance by the troops.
About 1,000 Mogok residents came to the resident to welcome the National Unity Government. The NUG cabinet was announced on Friday, April 16th, 2021.
45 minutes after the rally started, soldiers and police started shooting. One of the military personnel allegedly stated that he wanted five of the protesters dead.
No comments have been made by the military information center in Mogok regarding the shooting incident.
So far, the Myanmar military has killed about 10 protesters since the coup on February 1, 2021 in Mogok.
